BLOG : EJ and The Track Martians

Written by Ball Hog Beats

When we come across talented people on the rise , it’s impossible to see the obstacles and growth processes they have experienced. EJ is the CEO, executive producer, artist, and songwriter for his independent record label and production company, the Track Martians. He overcame many things in pursuit of becoming a musical leader in Los Angeles. The journey he took was different than most coming into the music industry. Without the social media madness, fake flossing and loud talk, EJ focused on the music , establishing a legitimate business, and staying true within himself. With the high quality music consistently coming from his camp, it’s no surprise how he gets everyone on the same page  while wearing so many different hats. His background in music is very wide and is a driving force behind his recent success.

Before the Track Martians, EJ already had some pretty impressive experiences under his belt. In college he majored in Business and Audio Engineering. Fresh out of college, EJ bounced around the US  looking to gain experience within the music industry. Persistently making moves, he accepted a A&R position for Atlantic Records. Simultaneously he started to manage local LA artist with some friends at the time. Looking out for everyone except himself , over time EJ knew he had to invest in himself for the long run.

With few people in his corner and low on dollars , EJ spent his last money to land some studio space , where it is today known as Top Notch Recordings. This is the birthplace of the Track Martians. He then built a super team of a couple artists , producers, engineers and social media personnel. Business is officially boomin! Head of the songwriting duties , EJ began leading his artists to charting numbers on iTunes, making the popularity of his artists and crew grow rapidly in Los Angeles and on the internet.

Christmas 2015, EJ and the Track Martians release a complication album , Winter Formal. On this project , all of the Martian’s artists and producers contributed, including EJ, majority displaying his skillful pen game as a lyricist. In 2016 , he release two highly anticipated solo hits, Day One and Saucy. Both tracks, are melody heavy with groovy vibes, but bangers. Since releasing the tracks , EJ’s social media notifications have been full of Musical.ly videos of both tracks from his fans. The people are definitely starting to recognize he’s no one hit wonder.

The work never stops. Creeping into mainstream status , EJ has recently worked with Neyo and had Ralphael Saadiq attend one of his shows. When real talent is present, the respect will be long lasting. You don’t always finish who you start with, but it leave those from the past in deep regret. I’ve had the privilege of knowing EJ for a few years now , and not once have I witnessed any form negativity. By far, he is one of the most inspiring and humble people you can come across in this LA music scene. EJ is the proof that anything is possible. You just have to trust the process.
